Timeless proportions, warm materials, and light-filled spaces
Project Description
This two-story residence brings a contemporary sensibility to classic European architecture. Arched windows, softly white walls, and pale beige trim create a cohesive exterior, complemented by dark metal roofing and warm wood accents. Refined detailing gives the home depth and character while maintaining a restrained palette.
Tall glazing draws daylight into the interior and reveals the staircase, creating a visual connection between the home and garden. Layered planting and stone pathways soften the architecture and provide a welcoming setting.
Design Process
The design developed through studies of proportion, material, and detail. Window placement, arched openings, and horizontal trim were carefully considered to establish a consistent rhythm across the elevations and connect the two-story volume with the lower wings.
Material refinement focused on subtle contrasts: slightly brighter walls against warm beige trim, textured surfaces against slender metal frames, and wood against stone. Straight balcony railings and understated lighting introduce a contemporary touch, while the interior staircase and warm illumination add depth to views through the windows.
